Hot weather bin collections in Cheltenham
Due to the hot weather forecast on Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27, Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May, our collection teams will be starting their rounds from 6am instead of 7am.
Councillor Steve Harvey, cabinet member for waste, recycling and green open spaces, said: "As a result of the hot weather our waste and recycling collections will start earlier than usual on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
"This is to help our crews and vehicles cope in the heat and ensure that they’re able to complete the scheduled collections. Residents are asked to put their recycling boxes, food caddies, refuse and garden bins out for collection at kerbside by 6am.
"Collections will take place a day later than usual, with crews working on Saturday 30 May to catch up.
“Our crews will do their very best to be as quiet as possible whilst out collecting earlier in the morning.”
