Please note that in some areas refuse and recycling collections take place as early as 7am so please have your rubbish presented at that time.

*Revised collections taking place on Wednesday 8, Thursday 9 and Friday 10 January will accept extra refuse and recycling.
Refuse should be placed in tied black bags next to the bin or at kerbside and recycling should be placed in carrier bag sized plastic bags next to the recycling boxes. Please ensure all extra recycling is sorted just as you would if it was placed in the boxes.
Flats or communal properties that dispose of waste and recycling in bin sheds will be monitored over the Christmas period. Please contact customer services on 01242 262626 for further details.
Garden waste collections will be suspended at the end of Friday 20 December 2024 and will resume from Monday 20 January 2025.
Recycling centre opening times and address
The recycling centre in Swindon Road has facilities for disposing of your household waste.
You need to book a slot to use the Swindon Road household recycling centre.
Booking is quick, simple and removes the need to queue on site. You can book up to three months in advance.

Alternatively, you can book by calling 01242 262626. The council’s business hours are 9am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 10am to 5pm on Wednesdays (excluding bank holidays).
