The Tree Section is responsible for:
- Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs)

Conservation Area Notifications - notifications to carry out works to trees located in Conservation Areas

Tree related planning issues

Implementation of High Hedge Legislation

Routine monitoring and inspection of thousands of trees

Arrangement of pruning works and management of external arboricultural contactors undertaking such work

Organisation of tree felling and tree planting

Undertaking site visits to answer queries and problems from general public

Providing tree-related information and advice

Co-ordinating emergency response during storms or bad weather and following damage to trees on council owned land.

Tree promotion, for example, through tree related community projects, such as tree carving, tree planting in schools, guided tree walks and activities during National Tree Week
