About disabled facilities grants

Large, tiled level access shower with hand rails

You could get a grant from us if you’re disabled and need to make changes to your home. A disabled facilities grant helps towards the cost of adaptations and facilities to make you safer and more mobile in your home.

The person making the application must be the owner or tenant of a house, flat or mobile home and will not necessarily be the disabled person who needs the work carried out.

You must arrange for an occupational therapist assessment

We can only consider grant assistance once we have received a referral from an occupational therapist. For this reason the first step to making a grant application is to phone 01452 426868 or contact Gloucestershire social services to arrange to be assessed by an occupational therapist to see if they think adaptations would be necessary to meet your needs.
