Parking QR code scam

Are you paying your parking fee to the right company?

In some cases fraudsters have been replacing QR codes in car parks and using fake websites to pose as online payment providers, duping some drivers into entering bank details.

To avoid any scam payment websites, it is important that visitors access online payment providers safely. If you choose to pay by this method in our car parks, make sure you follow one of the routes below:

  • Download the PayByPhone or alternative parking fee app directly from the App Store or Google Play Store
  • Visit the website by entering PayByPhone.co.uk or alternative parking fee provider directly into the search bar
  • Dialling 0330 400 7275 (for PayByPhone) to use the automated phone line

Remember in our car parks you can also pay using your card directly via the machine. If you do use a QR code, check that it appears on council signage and does not appear to have been doctored.

If you discover you are the victim of a QR code scam, contact your bank at the earliest opportunity. This will not only prevent any further fraudulent charges being made on your card but also allows you to check to see if you are eligible for any refund.

Make sure you report scams and fraud to Action Fraud.

Regent Arcade car park maintenance from 27 May 2024

Essential maintenance work on the Regent Arcade car park will start from Monday 27 May until early September.

During this time the car park will remain open, but fewer parking spaces will be available.

Various areas of the car park will be closed over the next few months as work progresses.

Albemarle Gate car park notice

From 23 October 2023, Gloucestershire County Council will be using Albemarle Gate car park to support the extension of the cycle path from the Honeybourne Line to the racecourse. There will be restricted access to the site whilst this work is ongoing. Alternative parking is available at Pittville Pump Room car park.

When the work is complete the car park will be resurfaced to ensure the full area is able to be used throughout the year. This will secure the use and benefit of the site in the long term for residents, cyclists and those accessing Pittville Park by car.
