21 – 22 April
The weekend of the 21 and 22 April is set to be an exciting one at leisure@cheltenham, when their latest launch weekend takes place. The free classes are bigger and better than ever and theres something for all ages to enjoy.
There will be the normal launch classes such as Body Pump, Spin and Zumba, as well as teen classes, beginner spin classes, yoga, a taster badminton session for seven to eleven year olds and Holistic martial arts. Holistic martial art is a first for the centre; it is part of the Aikido syllabus embracing the twin concepts of 'Mokuso' (centered breathing) and 'Mushin' (non-abiding mind). The class allows each student to move through gentle Tai-Chi type movements which will be very relaxing and therapeutic. Also new for the weekend is drop in soft play sessions for six months to five year olds. These fun sessions offer children the chance to use the soft play, gymnastic equipment and inflatables.
All these classes can be tried out, free of charge, at leisure@cheltenham on 21 and 22 April. Classes are open to everyone on a first come, first served basis. Members and non-members are able to pre-book at customer services on 01242 528764 from Saturday 14 April.
Daniel Brookes, activities co-ordinator at the centre said: Were offering more of a variety of classes for people to try out this time, and were also providing classes for youngsters. Exercise and a healthy lifestyle are so important - were hoping the classes on offer will give people the chance to try something new and enjoyable. Members of the team will be on hand to give advice and information about the various activities we have here at the centre. Im sure the weekend will be popular so its best to book now to avoid disappointment.
