Cheltenham Midsummer Fiesta is now searching for acts and performers for the 2012 Fiesta, to be held during Cheltenham Music Festival on Saturday 7th July in Montpellier Gardens.
This will be the Fiestas 3rd year celebrating the diverse communities of Cheltenham by showcasing a variety of talent from across the Borough. Previous years have seen some of the best local bands take to the stage and entertain the thousands of visitors, along with choirs, theatre productions, dance groups, a Gamelan orchestra and Tibetan Monks.
Other attractions include a marketplace of around 100 stalls, funfair, classic cars, sports village, childrens village, a bar and a range of food providers, tea dancing, a skateboarding competition and lots of activities for all.
The Fiesta is a free, non profit event organised by, Cheltenham Borough Council, Cheltenham Partnership, HSBC Cheltenham Music Festival, Cheltenham West End Partnership and Hesters Way Partnership. They are currently looking for a wide range of acts from all cultures to play on the main stage and in locations around the grounds.
Andy Hayes of Hesters Way Partnership, who leads the entertainment group, says: Were really excited about this years event with over 80 acts already offering to perform. The Fiesta offers a unique opportunity to reflect the diverse artistic talents of the whole of Cheltenham. We would welcome demos from any keen local acts which would like to perform at this exciting free community event.
If you have something to bring to the Fiesta, and would like the chance to perform to an audience of thousands, contact Andy Hayes on email or call on 01242 548294. Where possible, send a sample of your work, either on a CD or via you tube, My Space etc, and a brief biography including any promotional material. The selections will take place on Wednesday 21st March.
