Success for CBH as local man is banned from Hester's Way.
CBH applied for the ASB injunction after receiving many allegations that Johnson, 51, of Gristmill Close, Cheltenham , had over many years threatened violence and used violence against a number of Cheltenham residents and had engaged in the supply of drugs in Hesters Way. At a hearing on Thursday 10 November Gloucester County Court placed a five-year ASB injunction against Johnson which will run until 10 November 2016.
The court order bans Johnson from entering Hesters Way, Monkscroft, St Marks, Rowanfield, Springbank and Arle area. It also forbids him from causing nuisance, using or threatening violence, causing abuse or intimidation and from associating with certain individuals.
Paul Davies, Chief Executive at CBH said: We work hard to eliminate anti-social behaviour in the neighbourhoods we manage. Going to court is always the last resort but in this case due to the numerous allegations of ASB behaviour, it was in the best interests of local residents to take this course of action.
We are pleased with the outcome of this case as the terms of the injunction will have a really positive impact for the community and all those residents who have been affected.
We will continue to work with Cheltenham Borough Council, the police and courts to reduce anti-social behaviour across the borough.
Since the beginning of the year CBH has been working hard to tackle any reports of anti-social behaviour. Recent successes include:
- Kelly Raynsford - injunction obtained for 12 months on 26/10/11 excluding her from Edward Wilson House following a violent incident against a tenant.
- Martin O'Neill - injunction obtained for 12 months on 26/10/11 excluding him from Edward Wilson House following threats to tenants.
- David Townsend - injunction for 12 months on 27/10/11 not to cause nuisance or annoyance to anyone with a right to reside in Edward Wilson house.
The majority of ASB cases are resolved without the need for legal action through an independent mediation service and via a number of preventative measures CBH has in place to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Anti-social behaviour can be reported in person at the CBH area offices based in Oakley and Coronation Square , by calling free-phone number 0800 408 0000 or online at www.cheltborohomes.org. All contact will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
