Chance to volunteer at Midsummer Fiesta
Local people can try their hand at volunteering when one of Cheltenham 's biggest summer events takes place on Saturday 9 July. The ever popular Midsummer Fiesta is returning to Montpellier for another fun packed family day. There is so much planned, that extra help is needed to add to the success.
The event is free entry, starting at noon going right through until 10pm . Sports coaching, a market place with more than 80 stalls, live performances, dance workshops, classic cars, children's entertainment and plenty more will keep families entertained. Volunteers will work shifts from 8am through to the end of the event.
The range of volunteering opportunities includes: setting up; meeting and greeting; helping to organise the market place; litter picking; providing information and directions; assisting with specific activities; car parking duties; and packing up.
Carol Cross, Cheltenham Borough Council's community development outreach worker said: ''We would love to hear from people who can spare a few hours to help out. It's a fantastic opportunity to gain some valuable experience and soak up the fun atmosphere at the same time.''
Refreshments will be offered free of charge to the volunteers.
