Cheltenham's results are announced
Following polling day on 5 May 2011, a total of 35,712 votes were cast in Cheltenham, representing a turn-out of 41%. Of these, 22,695 voted 'no' and 12,972 voted 'yes' to the alternative voting system.
Andrew North, counting officer said: ''In view of the fact there has been no borough elections, 41% turnout in Cheltenham is very good.''
