Nclb party in the park

Party in the Park takes place on Friday 2 August at Cheltenham's Pittville Park with a quiet hour from 10am to 11am, activities open for all 11am to 4pm with musical performances continuing until 5pm

Cheltenham families are invited to enjoy a fun day out in the park this summer, with lots of free activities and entertainment on offer.  Families with children who may find the main event overwhelming can come to a quiet hour from 10am to 11am.

Throughout the day there will be live performances in music, dance and theatre, a variety of roaming entertainment and many more fun things to do for young children and young people, tying in with the Paris Olympics 2024.

There will be four areas or zones across the park and Prince of Wales Stadium, with different activities in each area. Highlights will include circus skills workshops, creative arts activities and physical activities including, a climbing wall, rugby and inflatables.

The event will also provide healthy meals for around 400 children from more vulnerable backgrounds, funded through the Holiday Activity and Food Scheme (HAF), as well as offering an advice village to families, where a range of support and guidance will be available from local community organisations.

Cllr Rowena Hay, leader of the council, said: “We are delighted to be hosting this exciting 'Party in the Park' event for our Cheltenham families, packed full of free activities and entertainment for all ages. From live music to physical activities, there’s something for everyone. Mark your calendars and join us for a day full of fun this summer.”

Lindsey Holland, chamber projects executive at Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce, said: “Summer of Play is an opportunity to bring together support for Cheltenham families. United by the common goal of making a difference to people’s lives locally, it’s an opportunity for businesses to give back and contribute however they can.”

We need sponsorship, free activity providers, donations and volunteers to help run this event. If you can offer any of these, get in touch at [email protected]. You can view our sponsorship document here.
