Revised waste and recycling collections for bank holidays in 2024

No collections will be made on Monday 6 May; collections that week will be a day later than usual.
Crews will be working up to and including Saturday 11 May to complete the catch-up. All collections will be back to normal from week commencing Monday 13 May.

Please note that in some areas refuse and recycling collections take place as early as 7am so please have your bins, boxes, bags and caddies presented in good time at the kerbside.

Karen Watson, Environmental Partnerships Manager at Cheltenham Borough Council, said: “The bank holiday collection arrangements throughout the year are aimed to be simple to remember and so the changes have therefore been made recurrent throughout each spring and summer bank holiday.

“Once again our hard-working crews will have a chance to get involved in celebrations over the special bank holiday weekends.”

Normal collections resume Monday 13 May 2024.

Normal collections resume Monday 3 June 2024

Normal collections resume Monday 2 September 2024. Details for winter bank holidays are unconfirmed at this point.

Swindon Road Household Recycling Centre

If you are looking to dispose of waste at the Swindon Road Household Recycling Centre, you will need to book your slot in advance. Residents can pre-book online quickly and easily. If you are unable to book online, please call customer services on 01242 262626 (council’s business hours are 9am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 10am to 5pm on Wednesdays (excluding bank holiday Monday)) and a slot can be booked for you.
