A building in a prominent town centre location is up for sale, offering a unique opportunity for businesses and developers to create something new and different in the area.
The former public toilets on the corner of High Street and Ambrose Street are now available for offers over £65k +VAT for a new long term 150 year lease, without any restrictions on use.
Cllr Peter Jeffries, cabinet member for finance and assets, said “We’re offering an exciting opportunity to take a disused, unattractive building that is no longer fit for purpose and create something niche that will really add something positive to this part of the High Street. We’re keen to hear from businesses and individuals with interesting proposals to bring it back into use.”
The 50m2 building, which was closed several years ago when it became unfit for use, requires a full refurbishment. Due to its prominent location, the site has the potential to create an innovative landmark building that will help improve the local townscape.
The council is keen to see proposals of high quality and innovative design, and that will bring some design flair to the building, either as part of a refurbishment programme or as a full redevelopment of the site.
