The licensing team at Cheltenham Borough Council has been awarded the iESE’s Certificate of Excellence for its service transformation work.
The achievement is awarded to any public sector body to mark significant innovations in transforming local public services.
Since 2017, the council’s licensing team has undertaken significant service transformation work to deliver a more efficient and customer-focused licensing service. The work included the development of an online customer application system that allows customers to easily apply for and renew licences at any time of the day and from anywhere.
The service transformation work has also resulted in financial savings of £90k and improved licensing processing times of up to 60%.
Louis Krog business support and licensing team leader, said: “Cheltenham Borough Council is increasingly being recognised as a public sector leading organisation for its commercialisation and transformation work.
“We are very proud to have been awarded the iESE Certificate of Excellence recognising the council’s hard work and commitment to deliver better and more efficient services and outcomes for our customers.”
Mike Redman, director of environment, said: “It is great to receive recognition from iESE for the innovative work of our licensing team.”
