Local residents are invited to come along and join in the fun this Saturday (16 September) from 12 noon to 4pm at a free family event at Elmfield Park, Elmfield Road, Cheltenham.

The event has been organised by a group of local residents who are actively involved in improving the facilities and activities happening in the park, and is supported by SPTM (St Peter’s and The Moors) Big Local.

Local resident, Debra Baker says: “We want to see this local park being used in positive ways like this. This event is to encourage families to get together and have some good old fashioned fun.”

There will be inflatables, old style games including a coconut shy, Punch and Judy shows and a fancy dress competition. Prize donations are being received from local businesses for the raffle and all the money raised will be donated to the Cheltenham Animal Shelter (GAWA). People are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets and picnic to make the most of the day.

David Manohar, SPTM Big Local chair, added: “Events like these are great for this area and these residents have shown that if you have an idea then you can make it happen. SPTM Big Local is continually working with this community to look at how to improve the facilities and how the park is used to benefit the current and future park users.”
