Residents can prepare for severe weather and the disruption it brings, thanks to improved information from Cheltenham Borough Council.

A refreshed ‘winter information’ page is now available and includes advice on everything from bin collections during snow, to driving in hazardous conditions.  Handy tips are shared for keeping well and warm during cold spells.

The website also points residents in the right direction for details on roads, gritting and school closures.

Pat Pratley, head of paid service at Cheltenham Borough Council said: ‘’Severe weather can impact on many parts of our daily lives so it’s important to know where to go for information and advice. We hope that in bringing together all of this into one area of our website, it will help residents to prepare and manage during spells of bad weather.

‘’Whenever any of our local services are disrupted, we make every effort to send out updates using the media and online with our website, Twitter and Facebook sites.’’
