Tennis in the Park, Cheltenham, is an exciting new initiative bringing an enjoyable year-round activity whether you are getting fit for summer or staying warm in the winter.

Now, for a one off charge of just £40, households can have year round access to Montpellier and Pittville Park courts with no extra costs. With an annual access code and the new online booking system, playing tennis in Cheltenham has never been easier. Alternatively, ‘pay to play’ costs just £6.40 for an hour on the court.

Jenny Moss, director of ‘In the Park’ cafés, says: “We’re thrilled to be launching ‘Tennis in the Park, Cheltenham’. Now, by booking online you can instantly see court availability and book before you go to guarantee your court. At £40 for a whole year we are hoping more people will be able to get into the game.”

Now open from dawn to dusk (approximately 8am to 10pm in the summer months), the courts have had a mini-makeover with newly installed gates and dedicated coaches offering a range of programmes from mini tennis to cardio tennis, perfect for working up a BBQ-sized-appetite.

James Deem of the Lawn Tennis Association continues: “We are really pleased to be able to support this initiative; it has been fantastic to work with partners at Cheltenham Borough Council and In the Park to develop this project. Cheltenham has two fantastic sets of public tennis courts for everyone to try tennis on. The online booking system and annual access codes are in place to make it easy for people to play and enable people of all ages and abilities to get into the sport in Cheltenham.”
He added – look out for the visit of the Davis Cup Trophy to Montpellier Gardens on the 20 August 10am-1pm.”

Chris Coleman, cabinet member for Cheltenham Borough Council, says: “We are delighted that Tennis in The Park, Cheltenham, has been set up to encourage more people to get into the game simply and easily.

“Tennis is a fantastic sport that can be enjoyed by young and old – and is excellent for keeping fit and healthy.”
