Midsummer Fiesta returns to Montpellier Gardens for another day showcasing the fantastic talents of the diverse communities of Cheltenham. With a multitude of activities from charity stalls, music and dance, this is a day for everyone in Cheltenham to enjoy.
After last year’s event saw crowds of over 8,000 people, this year’s event is expected to attract even more locals and tourists to Montpellier Gardens.
Big attractions include static hot air balloon rides, 80 market stalls from arts and crafts to food and jewellery, Punch and Judy, and animal mania.
Live music includes performances by Coronettes, Ukeholics, and the Ramrods. There will be a wide range of dance performances including salsa and Zumba to join in with. The children’s village will include bouncy castles, circus skills, crazy golf and the Music Man. Visitors can take a picnic or buy from the bar and range of caterers, browse the marketplace and classic cars display.
Daniel Cutting, five times Guinness World Record holder will also be at the fiesta to show off his football freestyle skills after recently returning from the World Cup in Brazil.
The marketplace and activities will run from 12-6pm. Performances and catering will continue until 9pm.
Helen Down, event organiser, says: “The fiesta promises to be a brilliant day for all involved and we hope that people coming will have a great time. Most of the activities are free of charge and there is plenty to appeal to all ages.”
Cllr Rowena Hay, cabinet member for healthy lifestyles said: “The fiesta is a brilliant demonstration of talent across all areas of Cheltenham. It’s great that residents have this opportunity to attend a free festival that has activities and performances for all ages.”
Admission and almost all activities are free. The Midsummer Fiesta is a not-for-profit event organised by members of Cheltenham Partnership.
