The Midsummer Fiesta in Montpellier Gardens is back this year and planners are looking for local performers, volunteers and sponsors to help celebrate the communities of the town.
The Fiesta relies on sponsorship, funding and pitch fees to raise enough money to hold the event each year. Organisers, Cheltenham Borough Council, Hesters Way Partnership and Cheltenham West End Partnership, are looking for organisations who may be interested in sponsoring the event, with sponsorship packages starting from £100.
They are looking to keep the Fiesta’s ethos of celebrating the talents and different cultures within the local area by finding the best that Cheltenham has to offer, from performers to sports clubs and small businesses.
Last year’s Midsummer Fiesta was extremely popular, with crowds of over 8,000 people. Visitors saw performances from local bands and dance groups and events put on by Gloucester Rugby and Cheltenham Town Football Club. The Fiesta also had a large marketplace and a variety of children’s activities.
Cabinet member for housing and safety, Peter Jeffries, said: “Last year’s Fiesta really demonstrated the borough’s diversity and it was a great day out for all the family. The organisers and volunteers worked extremely hard to make the day a success and they were rewarded by seeing thousands of people coming along. I'm really looking forward to this year's event."
Strategy and engagement assistant, Hannah Wright, said: “After the success of last year’s festival, we need all the help we can get to make this year’s event even better. It’s a great opportunity to get involved in your local community, whether you are a looking to be a volunteer or a business that is looking to sponsor.”
If you would like to be involved as a performer, trader or volunteer, or are interested in sponsoring the Midsummer Fiesta, please contact Hannah on email [email protected] or call 01242 775156. You can also apply on the Midsummer Fiesta website: www.midsummerfiesta.com.
