Unemployment in Cheltenham has dropped from 2.9% to 2.7%.
Cheltenham Borough Council have been running various schemes to bring in new employees throughout the council structure. One way the Council has been doing this is through Apprenticeship schemes.
Tom Wheatly, who is working for the Web and Communications team and Kyle Sterry, who will be working for the Business transformation team are new additions at CBC during July. They will both be completing an NVQ in Business and Administration with 'on the job' training.
The apprenticeship enables the employee to build relevant work experience and skills in their chosen career path. Many apprentices have gone on to gain permanent employment at the end of their apprenticeship.
Offering apprenticeships supports our commitment to ‘growing our own’ and also the Council’s vision of ‘working together to create a great future for Cheltenham’.
