The Marketing Cheltenham team are responsible for promoting everything that’s good about the town. The team are passionate about the town, promoting what’s on and where to go in Cheltenham through the Visit Cheltenham brand, with a successful social media presence and website. We produce printed guides to help visitors get around and send a fortnightly e-newsletter to subscribers from within Cheltenham, the UK and across the globe.

The team work with businesses like museums and galleries to help them to attract more visitors as well as event organisers to help plan events across the town. Not only this, but we even organise our own events, including the very popular Christmas Ice Rink in Imperial Gardens.

To support our work and the wider economy, we offer a number of partnership opportunities for businesses looking to invest in their marketing activities. Businesses can sign up as members of Marketing Cheltenham or as sponsors or advertisers on our website, at events, and around town. It’s important to us that businesses get the most out of their partnerships with us, so we work with them on an ongoing basis to help them to grow and develop through marketing and increased visitor numbers.

As a sales apprentice, you’ll be a key part of the team and will get the benefit of knowing that everything you work on will help to support the local economy and make Cheltenham an exciting place to live, work and visit.

What previous apprentices say

Hannah Smith, Marketing Cheltenham apprentice

“I would highly recommend an apprenticeship at Cheltenham Borough Council. I have received many opportunities to develop my skills, including training courses.

I have worked with a supportive team in a flexible environment, which has helped boost my confidence. I have enjoyed working in a role where I engage with local businesses and promote Cheltenham to visitors.”
