As a revenues and benefits apprentice at Cheltenham Borough Council (CBC) you'll have a wide a range of duties to support the revenues and benefits team. You’ll be involved with the billing and collection of council tax and business rates, and the administration of housing benefit and council tax support.

This is a varied and interesting role where you’ll learn on the job alongside your college studies.

With the support of the wider team you’ll hone your people skills, communicating with customers directly by letter, telephone and face to face. You’ll also liaise with other council services, partner and external organisations to exchange information and resolve queries, as well as the chance to get involved with projects such as the implementation of service improvements and new technology.

How long does an apprenticeship take?

An apprenticeship generally lasts between one and four years dependent on the level of qualification, but some may take longer.

What will I gain?

Apprenticeships are real jobs with real responsibilities. You’ll be earning a salary and studying towards a qualification.

We will support you to complete your apprenticeship training. A minimum of 20% of your working week will be allocated to your studies. You will develop your knowledge and understanding through your role as a revenues and benefits apprentice.
