Why we collect information about you?

We collect information from journalists to enable us to support press enquiries and press FOIs. This may include either professional or personal contact details depending on which the journalist chooses to provide.

What information do we collect about you?

  • Name
  • Contact details, i.e. email and telephone numbers
  • Organisation
  • For attendance at the elections count, we would also request the personal address and car registration details if taking a vehicle – this is for legal/security reasons

Who do we share this information with?

Other council service areas or partner organisations if it is necessary to forward enquiries on.

Is there any information transferred to or stored on servers based outside the EEA?

No.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep information for a maximum period of six calendar years.

We would not be able to fulfil our responsibilities in the press office to support journalists with their press enquiries.
