Make an application
Before making an application please read the byelaws and any relevant areas of the Tattooing and Body Piercing toolkit. Also consider our points of note document which highlights typical new starter errors.
Once you are satisfied you can meet the byelaws, you will need to apply for a personal and/or a premises registration (forms can be found under the 'Application forms' header below).
A personal registration certificate is only issued in associated with a registered premises. For a new business this normally means both a premises and personal registration/s are required. If you are looking to operate outside our boundary, you will need to contact the relevant local authority.
Application forms
You will need to complete an application if you are a new practitioner/operator or premises or if you need to make a variation to your existing registration. Email completed forms to [email protected] or post to Environmental Health, Cheltenham Borough Council, Municipal Offices, Promeande, Cheltenham GL50 9SA.

Replace a certificate
You will need to email [email protected] with the request and pay the fee of £19.00*.
Pay the application fee
Application fees are non-refundable. They only need to be paid once unless you move premises or wish to update your details.
Planning permission
A registration certificate does not cover any planning or building regulation requirements. You need to gain the relevant permissions separately when opening a premises.
