About disabled parking
Blue badge scheme
The Blue Badge scheme is a national scheme that provides parking concessions for:
- drivers and/or passengers with severe walking difficulties
- people who are registered blind
- drivers with very severe upper limb disabilities who cannot turn a steering wheel by hand
How do I get a blue badge?
Cheltenham Borough Council do not administer the blue badge scheme. For local information on obtaining a blue badge or for an application form please visit Gloucestershire County Council's blue badge scheme pages.
Disabled parking bays
Cheltenham Borough Council car parks
All council run car parks have designated disabled parking bays. If no disabled parking bays are available, blue badge holders may park in any other car park bay.
Blue Badge holders are required to pay the standard rates to park in Regent Arcade. Charges for stays longer than 3 hours apply in all our other car parks. Notices of the changes were displayed in advance, to allow time for customers to adjust to the new arrangements.
On-street parking managed by Gloucestershire County Council
Visit the Gloucestershire County Council website for information on where you can park using your blue badge. New blue badge spaces are available in Winchcombe Street and Rodney Road (which are near to Marks & Spencer) Bath Street, Clarence Street, Crescent Terrace, Regent Street, and Imperial Square (eastern arm), with existing blue badge provision also in Grosvenor Terrace and the Inner Promenade. You can also view a map of on-street disabled parking bays in Cheltenham town centre.
